PM says the law allows sales of almost 3 tons of seized amber at auction and transfer of this money to the state budget

The MIA seized almost 3 tons of amber worth about UAH60 million. The law allows sales of this amber at auction and transfer of funds received from the sale to the state budget. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said this in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on Tuesday, August 4.

The confiscated 2,640 kg of amber have been delivered today in Kyiv and presented to journalists in the Interior Ministry.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted the work of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and all the whole Interior Ministry, which revealed another fact of illegal amber production.

The Prime Minister reminded that this month the State Fiscal Service by efforts of the tax police seized 80 kilograms of amber in Zakarpatia region. "And now it’s about approximately 3 tons of amber worth UAH60 million," he said.
