Arseniy Yatsenyuk to summon an anti-crisis energy staff meeting

Presently, one half of housing and utility enterprises in Ukraine prove not ready for winter. On August 3, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk intends to summon a meeting of the anti-crisis energy staff. The Prime Minister informed on Friday, July 31, in Kharkiv during an enlarged meeting with heads of regional state administrations of eastern and southern regions.

He stressed that he had appealed to Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko with a request to lead and coordinate the winter preparation activities.

"All of us should urgently remobilize. To prepare all thermal power plants, heating companies, to complete all repair activities – everything should be finalized as soon as possible", urged Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Apart from that, the Prime Minister considers the situation in the energy sector a catastrophe. "The energy sector faces slowdown. The Ministry and relevant state companies prove not ready to provide heat and electricity to the country."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that on August 3 he would hold an anti-crisis energy staff meeting to solve the problems.
