Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Commander of U.S European Command Philip Breedlove

On Wednesday, July 22, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk held a meeting with the Commander of U.S. European Command, General Philip Breedlove, who is visiting Ukraine.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that Philip Breedlove is a big friend of the Ukrainian people: "And the American people support the Ukrainian people".

"We really appreciate your support and desire to make the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine more powerful, strong and compliant with highest military standards," stressed the Head of Government.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized that "Russia poses a threat both for Ukraine and for the entire free world, the entire world order, security and business stability".

"To achieve our common goals, we need to stay united, to do everything possible to force Russia to pay the price, and to prevent anyone in the world crossing the "red line" and violating international laws," accentuated the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Moreover, the parties discussed the process of joint Ukrainian-American military exercise within Fearless Guardian-2015 mission. Philip Breedlove noted that the following day he would visit the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre of the Western Operative Command of the Armed Forces in Yavoriv, where the military exercise takes place.

The core topic for discussion was practical measures of cooperation between Ukraine and its partners in the framework of the joint Coordinating Committee for military cooperation and military reforms designed to strengthen the defense potential of our country, to upgrade the National Armed Forces, to ensure their interoperability and compliance with NATO standards.
