Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Parliament: We should not repeat past mistakes. The nation is united in striving for a better future
"We were losing when we were not united. Our Ukrainian nation of today is united in their aspirations for European values and a better future", said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, July 16, before the vote to submit to the Constitutional Court the amendments to the Basic Law on decentralization.
"There are not politicians who have gathered in this hall. They are statesmen who have gathered in this hall. And the statesmen should take complex decisions," he stressed.
The Head of Government appealed to the MPs with a request “to learn from past mistakes”: “We were losing when we were not united”.
“Our Ukrainian nation of today is united in their aspirations for European values and for a better future. Our people have displayed wisdom. I urge on the Ukrainian Parliament to demonstrate wisdom, to adopt a Constitution and establish Ukraine as a strong state. We should not repeat past mistakes", highlighted Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
