Address by Prime Minister of Ukraine on the 25th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine

It has been 25 years since the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expressing the will of the Ukrainian people, adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine. This historic document has become the embodiment of dreams of many generations of Ukrainians who were fighting for the right to decide their own fate and to deliberately participate in world affairs.

The battle for this sacred right still continues. At the front, where our soldiers are protecting the country from the enemy. Inside the country, where the wreckage of the rotten system puts up fierce resistance to our advancement. In the hearts and souls of everyone who squeezes out fear and disbelief.

Again and again we prove to the entire world and to ourselves – it is impossible to destroy us, it is impossible to defeat us, it is impossible to stop us on the way towards our goal. We will definitely become a strong and successful country in the free family of European Nations.

To achieve this we need to complete fundamental changes in the economy, to finalize the cleansing of power, to make our army invincible, to learn winning everywhere and in everything.

Let’s remember on this day all those who have fought and are fighting for our freedom – both warriors of past centuries, and heroes, whose contemporaries we are lucky enough to be. Strength, endurance and divine help to all of us.
