Andrii Pyvovarskyi: "We are working on liberalization of aviation market without waiting for the signing of international agreements"

The activity of the Ministry of Infrastructure is currently aimed at the creation of such market conditions that will make the Ukrainian sky more attractive to carriers, Andrii Pyvovarskyi said this at a meeting of the Ministry of Infrastructure with the participation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Thanks to the efforts of the Ministry, it has been unlocked the process of issuing rights to operate air routes, overcome the legal vacuum that prevented the industry from operating for more than a year. "After the entry into force of the new order on provision and cancellation of rights to operate air lines, Ukraine has actually received an alternative carrier", said Andrii Pyvovarskyi, referring to the Atlasjet Ukraine company, which won the right to carry out flights to 36 destinations.

The Ministry is lobbying at all levels the acceleration of the signing of a Common Aviation Area Agreement with the EU. "I have already received the authority to sign the Agreement and hope that this will happen by the end of 2015", Andrii Pyvovarskyi informed.

"At the same time we are moving forward. Unilaterally we have introduced the Open Skies regime over Lviv and Odesa and currently we are carrying out active marketing activities to attract new carriers. Moreover, a Common Aviation Area Agreement with the United States has been already prepared for signing. The negotiations will continue during my visit to Washington on July 13," the Minister stated.
