Pavlo Rozenko: Our task is to attract as many citizens as possible to the use of subsidy system
Under the new
order of registration of subsidies, which came into force on May 1, 2015, more
than 1 million 100 thousand of Ukrainian families have already applied to local
authorities, 850 thousand of which have been granted subsidies. Minister
of Social Policy of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko
said this at a briefing at the Government House on June 26.
According to him,
after the facilitation of the issuance of housing subsidies refusal rate makes
up 3-5%, whereas under the previous rules this figure was 40-50%.
The Minister has also
assured that all the citizens who have submitted documents for subsidies in May
and June, but have not yet received a response from the local social insurance
offices will be assigned a subsidy from 1 April 2015,
and any additional costs to pay for gas and utilities for over
this period will be compensated.
"Our task is
to attract to the subsidy system as many citizens as possible. Therefore,
in the near future we will present changes to the regulation of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine, which further simplify the procedure of registration of
subsidies for people and empower local authorities to decide themselves in
unusual situations," Pavlo Rozenko
noted, stressing that the Government urges local authorities to take
an individual’s side in touchy situations and grant a subsidy.
In general,
according to the Minister, it is expected that during the unheated season 1.5 -
1.8 million of Ukrainian families will use the housing subsidy system. "For
comparison, last year during the unheated period only 370 thousand of families received
subsidies," he added.
