PM calls on to open trade offices in key partner countries of Ukraine by the end of the year

"We need to open sales representative offices in the United States, Belgium, Germany, France, China and the Middle East: It should be done by the end of this year," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized at a meeting of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on Tuesday, June 23.

The PM stressed that everyone in Ukraine, "who is involved in politics in the world, must be engaged in trade policy": "This applies to the Prime Minister, all the Ministers. And, of course, the President will defend the economic interests of Ukrainian companies," Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed.

"The Government is obliged to be an economical advocate of Ukrainian companies abroad. This is the practice of all countries, and I ask you to act in the same way," Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed.

Any international trip of the Prime Minister, a Minister, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, should be accompanied by "concrete economic results for the country." He noted that this was during the visit of the government delegation to the USA: "We put up a list of proposals to our American partners. They heard these proposals, and this is a real business that enables Ukrainians to diversify markets and allows Ukrainian business to develop and work on the external sector."

He took note of the role of Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius and Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko in this activity. Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined that Ukraine "has to possess a qualitative system supporting our economic interests abroad" under the direction of a trade representative of Ukraine.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has also said that he considers it expedient to establish a council of exporters, which will involve "all Ukraine’s companies that are able to export and take over other markets" and determine for each company, how to assist it and in what country.
