Arseniy Yatsenyuk: "In fall we'll see who out of Ministers holds office"

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk "absolutely supported" the position of the President that "it is necessary to evaluate the performance of each public official, including Ministers": "In the fall we’ll see who out of Ministers will hold office ", the Prime Minister underlined at a Cabinet’s session on Thursday, June 4.

The Government of Ukraine, he reminded, is a coalition Cabinet, and just the Parliament appoints Cabinet members: "Petro Poroshenko faction has the largest number of Ministers – ten, People’s Front - four representatives, Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc - two representatives. The factions Radical Party and Self Reliance also have their representatives."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that a number of tasks set by the President of Ukraine today in annual address to the Parliament, directly related to the work of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The Prime Minister noted that "he strongly supports the President’s position that it is necessary to assess the performance of each public official, including Ministers": "In the fall we’ll see who out of Ministers will hold office."

He informed that this week he began holding boards in all ministries, "Within the next three weeks I will visit every ministry in order to carry out a board and set final tasks to be implemented by September. Six months have passed, it was done a lot, even more hasn’t been done. Therefore, we must accelerate these processes."

Then, according to the Prime Minister, he will hold an appropriate conversation with representatives of the coalition, because "this is the issue of political responsibility for each Minister, advised and suggested by the coalition and voted for. In general, it is the political responsibility for the fate of the state."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk asked the Ministries to review the appeal of the President of Ukraine to the Parliament: "This should also be a part of our work aimed at reforming the country": "I hope that the parliamentary coalition also heard the appeal of the President about the need to ensure the unity."

He urged the Parliament to adopt eight bills "to complete the program of financial and economic stability, which was signed between Ukraine and the World Bank and between Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund."

"Unfortunately, once again, these laws have not been voted," Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized and said that today would leave for the Parliament, and "would strive to assure MPs not just to stick to joint responsibility, but to pass bills aimed at reforms."

"To vote for bills prepared by the Government along with the global financial and expert community- this is what I call reforms. These are those bills that are necessary today in order to make the country move forward, step by step," Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined.

"As the executive branch, we do our job, and we shall continue carrying out the plan of changes, which is necessary for Ukraine to gradually come out of this complicated economic, military and social crisis. A political task is the unity of the whole democratic camp, it is the unity between the Government, the President and the parliamentary coalition," the Prime Minister highlighted.
