PM appeals to Parliament to allocate some of capital expenditures for the needs of Olympic Training Center and Western Rehabilitation Sports Center
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk urged
Ukraine’s Parliament to decide on the allocation of capital expenditures from
the 2015 State budget for the needs of Koncha-Zaspa Olympic
Sports Training Center and Western Sports Rehabilitation Centerin
in Lviv. The
Head of Government said this on Tuesday, May 26, during a meeting of the
organizing committee on preparation for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de
Janeiro.
He stressed that Western
Rehabilitation Sports Center of the National Sports Committee for the Disabled
of Ukraine, located in Turkiv district of Lviv region, should be "immediately
gotten into shape". He
appealed to Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ihor
Zhdanov, President of the Paralympic Committee Valerii Sushkevych and Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Oleh
Syniutka to address the issue of the road which leads
to the center and is now in poor condition.
He recalled that
the main amount of funds was allocated for Lviv-Ivano-Frankivsk
highway’s reconstruction, but he highlighted the need for channeling funds to partial
repair of the road in Turkiv district.
The Prime Minister
also asked Valerii Sushkevych
to measure how much money is necessary for the needs of Western Rehabilitation Sports
Center.
In addition, the Government is ready to support the initiative to start the reconstruction of Koncha-Zaspa Olympic Sports Training Center. Arseniy Yatsenyuk urged MPs to allocate several millions of hryvnias from capital expenditures to the needs of these centers in 2015.
