Arseniy Yatsenyuk considers investments in energy and agriculture as cornerstones of the economic cooperation between Ukraine and France
"The two basic
elements of the economic cooperation between Ukraine and France include
investing in the energy sector and investing in the agricultural sector",
emphasized the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk following the
meeting with Prime Minister of France Manuel Valls in
Paris on Wednesday, May 13.
According to Arseniy
Yatsenyuk during the meeting the parties agreed on a visit of the Minister of
economy and Minister of agrarian policy of France to Ukraine.
The Prime Minister
stressed that France expressed readiness to participate actively in the
privatization of Ukrainian state property: "This is the investor, much
needed for the Ukrainian economy".
At this, he added
that the French side would sent experts to the State Property Fund of Ukraine “to
ensure fair and transparent privatization in Ukraine, not to satisfy someone’s
needs, but to be focused on real investor”.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
reminded that during his recent meeting with French President Francois Hollande they had agreed to hold in Paris this fall an investment
conference in order to present an investment potential of Ukraine: "Aimed
at enabling an investor to come to Ukraine, to create jobs for Ukrainians, to
help the Ukrainian business. The French business will benefit from it, as well".
The Head of Ukrainian
Government reminded similar investment conferences were planned to hold in the
USA and Germany.
Apart from that, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk informed that the parties had agreed to collaborate in curbing corruption.
He recalled that part of the assets of Ukrainian officials were accumulated in the
EU member countries, in particular in France: "The French Government has
clearly noted that they are willing to actively cooperate with the Ukrainian
law enforcement system to track all illegal assets owned by the Ukrainian
authorities on the territory of France".
