Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with OECD Secretary-General in Paris
In the framework of the working visit to France on Wednesday, May 13,
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk visited the headquarters of the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and met with
Secretary-General Jose Angel Gurria.
The Prime Minister discussed with the OECD Secretary General promising directions
of cooperation under recently signed Memorandum of cooperation. Notably, it concerns
OECD assistance to attract investors into the Ukrainian economy, with the view
to the large-scale privatization announced by the Government of Ukraine.
Another important issue is curbing corruption, also through internship and
training for the specialists to investigate tax crimes and facts of money
laundering.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister noted the principled stance of the OECD,
which brings together the most economically powerful world nations, in
termination of cooperation with the Russian Federation through an aggressive
policy of the Kremlin in Ukraine.
It is expected that on June 16 the OECD will host a day of Ukraine,
during which member states of the Organization shall tackle new joint projects to
support Ukraine.
At the end of the visit to the OECD headquarters Arseniy Yatsenyuk signed
the Book of honorary guests of the Organization.
