Oleksii Pavlenko: Ukraine is a reliable exporter of agricultural products

At the Forum on Food Security in Barcelona, the Ukrainian delegation has got the support of Western partners and reached an agreement regarding the involvement of the best world experts in the implementation of reforms in agriculture. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko.

In particular, it was agreed to cooperate with the World Bank experts on the implementation of the project on agricultural receipts in Ukraine. “This project will get new injections. WB experts are ready to provide us with technical assistance in the implementation of agricultural receipts. We hope that we will be able to run it in 7-8 regions of Ukraine,” the Minister said.

In addition, the World Bank is ready to provide technical and expert assistance in the implementation of the project on modernization of the irrigation system in the southern regions of Ukraine.

In turn, the EBRD has confirmed its intention to organize an international investment conference in September to support of Ukrainian farmers.

Special attention was focused on the export of Ukrainian products, in particular to the EU, Egypt, Tunisia, and so on. “According to our partners, Ukraine is a reliable exporter of agricultural products. We assured them that we will continue to stay this way,” Oleksii Pavlenko said.

On May 5-6, the delegation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine lead by Oleksii Pavlenko visited the Private Sector Forum on Food Security in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Region in Barcelona.
