Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Gov't allocates UAH300 mln for small and medium-sized farms to compensate interest rate
The Government of
Ukraine has allocated UAH 300 million for
compensation of interest rates for small and medium-sized farms and plans to
allocate funds to compensate the interest rate for the purchase of Ukrainian
agricultural machinery in the second half of the year.
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said
this during the inspection of domestic agricultural machinery used at planting
corn and soybeans in Kyiv region on Friday, April 24.
The Prime
Minister recalled that the Cabinet of Ministers set two priorities in the action
program - development of the energy sector, as well as food policy.
Last year, the
Prime Minister said, the agricultural sector showed an increase of 16%. The
Government, according to Arseniy Yatseniuk,
expects that agriculture will continue to be one of the main driving forces of
the Ukrainian economy.
"Ukraine is a key player in the global food market. The control of the food market in the world, supply of cheap and high quality food in Ukraine are those opportunities that we must seize. This requires investment, cheap credit and interest rate compensation that we now provide," the Prime Minister underlined.
