Arseniy Yatsenyuk declares no victory in WWII possible without Ukraine

The Government of Ukraine approved an action plan on celebration of the 70th anniversary of victory over Nazism in Europe and the end of WWII: "We are going to celebrate the victory over Nazism with same symbols as Europe and the EU celebrate - which is poppy," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the VR session on Friday, 24 April.

"No potato bug coloured and other sorts of Soviet-Russian ribbons. Owing to the Ukrainian Parliament a decision has been adopted to declare May 8 a Day of reconciliation and grief. We have jointly decided that we celebrate the victory over Nazism with same symbols Europe and the EU celebrate – it is poppy", stressed the Head of Government.

"This is first serious step to bring about truth and justice with regard to those who were fighting in the Second World War and to prove there would never be victory in WWII without Ukraine", said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

He informed that the following week the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine would have a presentation of short historical videos about the role and place of Ukraine in victory in World War II.

Moreover, the Prime Minister called on the MPs to take an active part in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of victory over Nazism.
