PM appealed to the Interior Ministry to complete the investigation into SES management and submit materials to court
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to complete the
investigation into Head of the State Emergency Service Serhii
Bochkovsky and his deputy, and expressed the hope
that the court would take appropriate legal action based on MIA investigation materials.
The Head of the Government said this at a meeting of the State Emergency Commission
on Tuesday, 21 April.
The Interior
Minister of Ukraine said that the investigation into the SES Chairman and his deputy
is in progress. The
Interior Ministry received new evidence in this case, including from
international partners: "We have a number of new unexpected episodes."
"I believe that
we will complete the investigation within the next few months and it will be submitted
to the court," the Minister said.
During the
meeting, the Prime Minister also stressed the need to create so-called
"flying brigades" in the regions in the framework of combating
corruption.
"I am looking
forward to relevant results of combating corruption at the middle and low
levels, so that customs and tax officials keep on taking bribes, and it all happens
in the regional offices," Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined.
He recalled this
week the Commission should elect a new head of the State Fiscal Service of
Ukraine, "But purges to be held at the regional level is the competence of
the law- enforcement bodies with the Prosecutor's offices."
"I hope that
there will be the same results as in the arrest and investigation into the
cases against persons in the rank of Minister of State Emergency
Services," the Prime Minister said.
