Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Berlin: A business summit scheduled for July aimed at drawing investment to Ukraine
In July 2015 there will
be held a major business summit, aimed at attracting investment to Ukraine: into
agricultural and energy sectors, energy saving and infrastructure. Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced at a press conference following
the meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel in Berlin on
Wednesday, April 1.
The Head of Ukrainian
Government noted that German Chancellor Angela Merkel had supported an idea of such
business summit.
"That’s what
proves necessary today for the Ukrainian economy. We expect to see German
business and German technology in the development of the infrastructure
projects", he stressed.
Moreover, he reminded
that he had held a meeting with representatives of German business circles.
Apart from that,
Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that day the Government of Ukraine and the Federal
Government of Germany had inked a Memorandum on a loan worth EUR 500 million. Out
of this sum EUR 200 will be directed to support the budget, while another EUR
300 million– “for infrastructure investment projects to be developed in Ukraine”:
“These are funds, loans enabling to trigger development of small and
medium-sized business”.
