PM proposed to involve volunteer organizations in activity of State Service for ATO Veterans and Participants

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed to the Chairman of the State Service for ATO Veterans and Participants to involve volunteer organization in the activity of the State Service in the regions. He stated this at a Government’s meeting, on Tuesday, March 31.

"I know that you're doing your utmost in order to provide Ukrainian soldiers, who returned from the ATO area, with state aid," the Prime Minister noted.

However, he has stressed that the main thing in this work "is not to follow the path of the standard restrictive approaches."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk has suggested that instead of creating divisions of the State Service in every region we should make "agents not regional or district administrations, not new bureaucratic structure, but volunteer organizations." He has noted that Ukraine has the widespread volunteer movement, and thus we shouldn’t spend money on officials, but attract volunteers "who supported ATO participants, were and are actively involved in supporting Ukrainian servicemen": "This will yield more effective results."

The Prime Minister appealed to the Chairman of the State Service for ATO Veterans and Participants Arthur Derevianko and stressed the need to change the structure of the service: "There is no need to create in each region a large administrative structure that won't do anything positive to us."

Moreover, Arseniy Yatsenyuk commissioned Arthur Derevianko to organize an international conference to attract certain assistance from our western partners: "Just set clear goals – what we want to receive as an assistance - and prepare an international conference to tackle needed aid for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and anti-terror operation members to be provided by our western donors and partners".

The chairman of the State Service for ATO Veterans and Participants reported that such a conference had been scheduled for September this year. The Prime Minister stressed the need to speed up the process.
