Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation

Friday, March 20, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas, who arrived in Kyiv to sign the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in Horizon 2020 - an EU research and innovation programme.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk congratulated Ukraine's accession to Horizon 2020 programme as an associate member, thus providing the Ukrainian educational and research institutions with an access to financial funds of the European Union, similar to that of the EU member states. The total budget of Horizon 2020 programme for 2014-2020 amounts EUR 80 billion.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that the agreement would contribute to the practical integration of the Ukrainian scientists into a single research area of the European Union. According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, this is one of the practical results of the European choice of Ukraine, which will be felt by the entire Ukrainian scientific environment, as well as another strong signal of support to Ukraine from the European Union.
