The Ukrainian Government has approved a Memorandum of cooperation with
the International Monetary Fund. The President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister
of Ukraine, the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine and the Minister of
Finance of Ukraine signed the Memorandum, PM of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed
at the Cabinet’s session on Saturday, February 28.
According to him, the International Monetary Fund will issue a corresponding
document.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the President of Ukraine “for
his very strong position, which enabled us to elaborate our joint effective reform
program, and for our joint negotiations with the International Monetary Fund
and international creditors”.
Moreover, Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed gratitude to Minister of Finance of
Ukraine Natalia Jaresko and all members of the
Government, "We have done everything possible within the framework of our
cooperation with the IMF and in our step-by-step plan of reforms for the
country."
According to the PM, the Memorandum "is a plan of changes, monitored
by our western partners".
"Throughout
2014 we were implementing two such memorandums, and each point of each reform vital
for the country was executed. That is why the IMF expanded the program with Ukraine
for four years, and that is why we have managed to agree with our western
partners on the unprecedented amount of financial support for the country in a
state of war", stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
