Arseniy Yatsenyuk assures the border is being built and will be built. Objectors support Russian aggression
The
Government of Ukraine will adopt a
new edition of "the European
Rampart" program of the state border of Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said this at a Government meeting on Wednesday, February 18.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk said
that the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the State Border Service, Ministry of
Internal Affairs of Ukraine are carrying
out tasks set by the Government
on the construction of the security
line, "This line is currently bordering the ATO zone and preventing
Russian terrorists and mercenaries from breaking into territories which are controlled and will be controlled exclusively
by the Ukrainian authorities."
The
second security line, according to him, is "the European
Rampart" along the state border of Ukraine.
"I would like to inform all
the pro-Russian forces, the European Rampart is being built and will be built. The security line is being built,
operating, and we will not allow terrorists, mercenaries,
bandits and other
sponsors of Russian terrorism transferring weapons, crossing the state border, crossing the security line and sending reconnaissance and sabotage groups there," Arseniy
Yatsenyuk
stressed.
He
recalled that last year the Cabinet had allocated UAH235 million for the construction
of the state border. Under these funds has been
build the security line as well as
engineering structures and anti-tank ditches on
the Ukrainian-Russian state border.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed
to the Ministry of Finance to
allocate UAH70 million remaining from
the principal sum for the project
implementation.
The
Prime Minister said that after a series of consultations dedicated to the reduction of
project’s costs and its higher
effectiveness the Government would
approve a new edition of the
European Rampart project today.
According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk,
the preliminary costs of the construction of the state border have been at least halved.
He has also stressed that
he insists on setting weapons of destruction at the border.
"The border is being built
and will be built. And objectors to the border,
to security of the Ukrainian
citizens are supporters of Russian terrorists and Russian
military aggression. We said,
thus we are doing and will complete," he underlined.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed
to Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
Arsen Avakov "personally supervise this issue", because the State
Border Service reports to the
Interior Ministry.
