Volodymyr Demchyshyn met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine

February 12, 2015, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn met with Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine
Mr. Yonet Can Tezel to discuss the cooperation in the energy sector.
The
sides expressed
their mutual interest in the future
meetings of the Working Group on Energy established under
the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Turkish
Commission on trade and economic cooperation,
and the Working Group on cooperation in the nuclear energy sphere.
"Proposals to be elaborated by participants of these groups should be the basis
for decisions on joint projects in the energy sector between the two countries
in the framework of the Strategic Council at a high level," Mr. Tezel noted.
In addition, the sides discussed the state of the implementation of the project TANAP, which
will increase the Caspian natural gas supply to Europe via Turkey in the future.
The
meeting concerned the issue of sharing technical experience
between, particularly in nuclear energy.
