PM appeals to western partners to immediately convene UN Security Council

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the western partners to urgently convene the Security Council of the United Nations and hopes to get a quick and tough response of the EU on the situation in eastern Ukraine. He stated at a meeting of the operational headquarters on the situation in Mariupol on Saturday, January 24.

The Prime Minister said that today he would meet with the Ambassadors of the G7 and member countries of the Security Council of the United Nations, "They will be informed about the crimes against humanity committed by the Russian terrorists supervised by Russia on the territory of the Ukrainian state".

"I hope, as always, for a quick and tough response of the European Union", stressed the Head of Government.

"We appeal to our western partners and members of the UN Security Council to urgently convene a meeting of the Security Council of the United Nations. After all, Russia violates not only the Minsk agreements - Russia violates basic principles of international law and humanity," he urged.
