Arseniy Yatsenyuk sets deadline of ten days to conduct investigation of the contract for electricity supply from Russia and to Crimea

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has instructed to launch an investigation regarding activities of the officials of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the administrative staff of state-owned companies when signing contracts “both on the electricity import from the Russian Federation and delivery of power energy to the Ukrainian territory, which is the Autonomous Republic of Crimea". He announced at a CMU session on Wednesday, January 21.

"I demand in the course of investigation to determine who negotiated the terms of the contract, why the contract contains a hero city Moscow as the venue to settle arguments”, stressed the Head of Government.

He has commissioned to report to the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the investigation within ten days.

The Prime Minister noted that he would inform the President of Ukraine, the Parliament and the people of Ukraine about the results of the investigation - "which contract terms protect the interests of Ukraine, and which do not meet the interests of Ukraine".

Apart from that, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that "these contracts have obtained a lawyer - Russian Prime Minister”, "Yesterday he made public the entire message. Russian Prime Minister started writing Ukrainian, and English as well. It is correct, Ukrainian should be learnt".
