Arseniy Yatsenyuk discusses energy security and enhanced military-technical cooperation with U.S. Senator
On Tuesday, October 28, Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with U.S. Senator, the Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee James M. Inhofe, who
is staying on a visit to Ukraine.
The PM welcomed the efforts of the Senate of the United States directed
to deepening of cooperation with Ukraine. Among the key topics to discuss
during the meeting were the issues of energy security and enhanced
military-technical cooperation.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the European Commission and the Government of
Ukraine had developed the common positions during the negotiations with Russia
regarding the natural gas supplies. According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine
will continue its endeavours aimed at diversifying energy sources in order to
deprive of its dependence on Russian deliveries.
Moreover, the Prime Minister highlighted the need for Russia to make concrete
steps in order to deescalate the situation in the East of Ukraine in compliance
with the Minsk agreements.
