PM: Coalition to be formed as soon as possible on the basis of the AA
"We are going to form a coalition as soon
as possible in order to enable a new Government and a new Parliament to carry out quickly
and efficiently reforms necessary for
the country," the Prime Minister
of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined on
Sunday, 26 October.
The Prime Minister informed that he had just
had a meeting on this issue with the President of Ukraine.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk thanked Ukrainians, who took part in
the vote: "For me this is an incredible responsibility
to the country and to everyone
who came and voted. We
have difficult times ahead, but together we
will overcome all difficulties. "
“The Government has provided democracy, fairness
and transparency of the elections to the Parliament of
Ukraine,” the Prime Minister stressed and
said that he had just held
talks with the heads of regional
administrations on ensuring democratic counting of the
outcomes of the elections.
He appealed to the CEC so "as soon as
possible to sum up the results of the
voting, to publish them, so that to
understand who won the election in single-member
districts and how to form a
new coalition."
"The basis for a new coalition shall
be the Association Agreement with the European Union. This
should be a basis for a coalition agreement",
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
emphasized.
"The Ukrainian people have made
their choice, and I hope that a new Cabinet
of Ministers of Ukraine will include only professionals who
are able to carry out reforms and to
bring changes for Ukraine,"
he noted.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk added that the mandate of trust given in the parliamentary elections "is the mandate of responsibility to the Ukrainian people": "We all have a personal responsibility to everyone who came and voted. This is just the beginning. In the future, we shall do complex and right work for the country."
