Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Government divests itself of its powers before the new VR, but doesn't absolve itself of responsibility
Prime Minister of
Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded to the members of the Government about a personal
responsibility until a new Cabinet was appointed. He said on Friday, October
24, at the Cabinet’s meeting on the eve of the election of the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine due on October 26.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded
that pursuant to the Constitution, the Government divests itself of its powers before
the newly elected Verkhovna Rada.
At the same time, he
stressed that “the Cabinet of Ministers, after the elections, doesn’t absolve itself
of responsibility until a newly formed Government is appointed".
“I demand a personal
responsibility of each Minister. We will work until the last day. As we are accountable for the situation within the country to the
people. And in this situation, I am asking to demonstrate mobilization
and efficient work", urged Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
