On Monday, October 20, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Government's
draft amendments to the State Budget in the section of social protection of
invalids, veterans and participants of the anti-terrorist operation (No. 5146),
which stipulates for the allocation of UAH 7 million for the prosthetic care
abroad.
When familiarizing the MPs with the bill, Prime Minister of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that certain number of ATO participants who need
prosthetics, got it in Ukraine, but for another part of them it was necessary to
undergo surgery abroad.
He stressed that the Government's draft amendments to the State Budget would
afford to allocate UAH 7 million by the end of the current year to finance the prosthetic
surgeries abroad for the members of ATO.
Besides, UAH 2 million is to
be funded for the established State Service for the participants and
veterans of the anti-terrorist operation, namely, for state registration of ATO participants to "render assistance to each particular soldier, who falls under
the act, to issue everyone the certificates of ATO
members and, accordingly, to provide them
with all social benefits and guarantees".
