The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
met with U.S. Senator, a member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services John
McCain, September 4 Thursday.
The Head of Government expressed appreciation
for the active position of the U.S. Senate in support of Ukraine in the fight against
Russian aggression.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk and John McCain discussed the
current situation in Donetsk
and Lugansk regions. The Prime Minister of Ukraine
expressed his belief that announced by Vladimir Putin the so-called plan to
resolve the situation in Ukraine
is an attempt to elude the vigilance of the international community and to hide
the fact of aggression of the Russian regular troops in the East.
The Prime Minister confirmed Ukraine’s need in
military-technical assistance of the international community to protect against
the aggressor. The Ukrainian side counts on solidarity of partners and allies, Arseniy
Yatsenyuk said, noting the key role of the United States and the European
Union.
