The Agreement with the EU will be ratified by the current Parliament - Arseniy Yatsenyuk in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels
"The Association agreement with
the EU will be ratified by the current Parliament in September. The Government
has done everything in power in order not just to ratify
the Agreement, but to implement it", - said the Prime Minister of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Friday, August 22, in an interview with Ukrainian TV
channels.
The PM noted that Russia was trying
to slow down the process of ratification of the Agreement with the EU, saying
that the Agreement hampers the Russian economy: "I think that the Russian
economy is hampered only by the Russian military aggression and the regime they
have today - as already hundreds of billions of dollars have gone down the
drain from the Russian economy".
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that
several rounds of technical consultations on the Association Agreement with the
EU, Ukraine and the Russian Federation had been held: "To every so-called
Russian warning we have two ours which completely negate the Russian position.
There are no grounds for Russia to raise a question about the alleged negative
consequences of this deal for it."
"Everything is ready for
ratification of the Agreement with the EU. The current Parliament in September
will ratify the Agreement with the European Union", - said Arseniy
Yatsenyuk.
In its turn, the Ukrainian Government has
spared no effort to ensure “not just ratification of the Agreement, but the
implementation of it." Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that on June 21 the
Cabinet of Ministers had decided to establish a system of implementation of the
Agreement with the European Union. It set up the Government’s Office for
European integration and introduced Deputy Ministers of European integration,
who had been shortlisted through a public competition.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that in
certain ministries about 40 candidates had applied to the post of Deputy
Ministers: "Young people, English speaking, with certain experience and
who know what to do. These young people have now formed certain backbone of implementation
of the Agreement."
