V. Hroysman: Ukraine keeps preparing for International Donors' and Investors' Conference
The
preparation to an International Donors’ and Investors’ Conference, the Economic Recovery and Growth Agenda for
2014-2016 developing by
the Government so as to overcome
the challenges Ukraine faces and other issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU were discussed at today's meeting by Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroysman, Deputy Director General of the European Trade Commission Peter Balazs and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski.
Volodymyr Hroysman informed that as for today the Government set up a preparatory committee, which began to develop the technical parameters of this event. He expressed hope that in the near future the EU will also set up a corresponding preparatory committee, which will join the collaboration.
He
also stressed the importance of an early start of the EU
mission’s work, aiming
at studying
the issue of damages and losses caused by terrorists in eastern Ukraine, as well as ensuring addressing the urgent needs of
internally displaced persons within the country.
Moreover, the Vice Prime Minister handed an official letter to Peter Balazs, which refers to the intentions of the Ukrainian
side to attract European advisors to work within government
committees.
The
parties discussed the establishment of a Government Office for European
Integration, which will carry out the coordination of executive power in this area, as well as a clear monitoring of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU. Peter Balazs expressed interest of the European Commission in an early start of this office’s work and called it one of the components of success
of the future donors’ conference.
In
his turn, Volodymyr Hroysman said that the Government schedules a batch appointment of deputy ministers of European integration at one of the nearest meetings.
