Sides discussed the
human rights situation in Ukraine,
particularly in the Eastern regions of our country. The counterparts have
condemned the kidnapping of Ukrainian children and their forced displacement
into the territory of the Russian
Federation by members of illegal armed
groups. The special attention was paid to the protection of civilians, in
particular children and women, and promotion of human rights in the context of
difficult social and economic situation.

Commissioner for Human Rights praised the high level cooperation between the
Government of Ukraine and international human rights missions, in particular
the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission and OSCE’s
Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine,
and confirmed the readiness of the Council of Europe to assist Ukraine
in conducting reforms in the human rights area.
