Pavlo Sheremeta participates in Coordination Council's meeting dedicated to realization of joint projects with OECD
The Minister of
Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Pavlo Sheremeta
has participated in a meeting of the Coordination Council for relations with
the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development which was dedicated
to realization of joint projects aimed at improving competitiveness of Ukraine.
During the meeting the
interlocutors discussed the final stage of a joint work on the Memorandum of
understanding on deepening of cooperation, which will determine the promising
cooperation areas. Moreover, the mentioned memo envisages further realization
of the project “The strategy of sector competitiveness for Ukraine”.
Pavlo Sheremeta noted that expert assistance of OECD plays a significant
role in enhancement of competitiveness of the national economy, promotion of
internal development taking into account best world practices and modern
tendencies.
“Our strategic goal is
to get to the way of joining the club of the most developed countries, which is
the OECD,” the Minister stressed.
The head of the
Eurasia Competitiveness Program Antonio Somma
emphasized that the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is
ready to activate relations with the Government of Ukraine.
“Representatives of the
OECD council, which is comprised of 34 member-countries, gave a mandate to
strengthen relations with Ukraine and the memorandum is one of the concrete
examples what is done by us to fulfill this mandate. The OECD Secretary General
invited the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk to his headquarters to
sign the Memorandum,” Antonio Somma emphasized.
