Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Russia has stolen our territory, Chornomornaftogaz and 2.2 billion cubic meters of Crimean gas

The Ukrainian party has filed two lawsuits to the European Court for Human Rights – with regards to annexation of Crimea and liabilities of the Russian Federation to Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced at the VR session on Tuesday, June 3.

“In addition we are preparing other lawsuits, including to the state authorities and leaders of the Russian Federation for illegal seizure and looting of Ukraine. They must be answerable for that,” he stressed.

Moreover, the Head of Government reminded that Prosecutor General Office of Ukraine had launched investigation with regards to Ukrainian property in Crimea after annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation: “In the framework of the criminal case the Government will file claims at the sum exceeding 1 trillion hryvnyas”.

He reminded that since 2005 the Russian Federation had been declaring that Ukraine had allegedly been steeling gas from Russia. “Now I can easily declare: gas is stolen by the Russians”.

“They have stolen our territory, stolen Chornomornaftogaz, stolen 2.2 billion cubic meters of Crimean gas situated in Crimea,” the Head of Government added.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk highlighted that Ukrainian party applies all possible legal means to bring the Russian Federation to justice: “We are aware, such judicial proceedings can’t be solved through a month. However, such judicial proceedings will yield results”.

“By the way, I want to mention Crimea separately. You probably remember the discussion which had been held since 2005 concerning the fact that the Russian Federation declared that Ukraine was allegedly stealing gas. Now I can state [speaks Russian]: “Gas is stolen by the Russians. They have stolen our territory, they have stolen Chornomorneftegas, they have stolen our 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas situated in Crimea. So, who is the thief?
