First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs discuss voting process in Ukraine with French diplomat
On May 26, 2014 First Deputy Minister for
Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Natalia Galibarenko met
Eric Fournier, Director of the Continental Europe Department of the French
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides discussed the voting in Ukraine on May 25,
2014, preliminary results of the elections and the situation in the eastern and south-eastern regions
of Ukraine.
Director Eric Fournier stressed the importance of the
presidential elections for the normalization of the situation. N.Galibarenko expressed gratitude for the participation of France in the monitoring of
elections, as well as for the country’s strong position in
supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the issue of European
integration of Ukraine, in particular, the signing of the economic and sectoral part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine
and the European Union in the nearest future.
They also reviewed the Ukraine-France cooperation prospects and the
possibilities of intensification of the political dialogue at the highest
level.
