French diplomats highlight "completely perfect" organization of presidential elections

At a meeting with the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ostap Semerak diplomats from France emphasized the presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25 had been organized “with absolute efficiency”.

On May 26, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers met with Alain Remi, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Ukraine, Eric Fournier, director for Continental Europe of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, Didier Le Breu, director of Crisis center of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France.

“We thank you for the completely perfect organization of the elections. It has been the highest organization level indeed. We have been observing the electoral process in Kharkiv. And we haven’t received information about any fraud,” the diplomats emphasized.

Moreover, the foreign guests stressed they had had a meeting with French businessmen working in Ukraine. “Now our businessmen are looking into the future with confidence,” the diplomats said. 

In turn, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers thanked for the high evaluation of the elections. “We are pleased to hear positive feedback about the electoral process. The more so you assess guided by the European standards,” Ostap Semerak emphasized.

The top official reminded a group headed by the First Vice Prime Minister Vitalii Yarema had been working in the Government, which engaged into coordination of actions of the security forces and ensured security during the elections.

According to him, the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk paid personal attention to the organization of the electoral process, prevention of threats and disruption of the elections.

Besides, the Minister told about reforms introduced by the Government of Ukraine: curbing corruption, improvement of business environment, decentralizing of power. Ostap Semerak emphasized also upgrading the electoral system. “Even when we speak about the elections, they also involve reforming as during the current electoral campaign there wasn’t any influence of administrative resources, frauds. This is what our citizens want to see,” the top official emphasized.
