The Minister of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ostap Semerak informed leading European analysts engaged into international activity about the situation in Ukraine.

Ostap Semerak expressed hopes the experts would provide true facts about Ukraine in all possible ways. “Ukraine, as never before, needs the true facts were informed about it outside the country,” the top official stressed.

The Minister told to the foreign guests in which conditions the current Government was working. “We believe after the presidential election the situation within the state will change for the better,” he said.

Moreover, Ostap Semerak noted one of the largest problems of Ukraine, apart from activity of terrorist groups and Russian aggression, was corruption. According to him, the Government is engaged into combating corruption through approving relevant laws in synergy with the Parliament.

Thus, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine admitted that organization of the election process in the eastern regions of Ukraine needed increased efforts as compared to the rest of the territory. “But the authorities spare no effort to protect declaration of will. The security structures of the country, specifically the MIA [Ministry of Internal Affairs], SSU [Security Service of Ukraine] and public activists, are working to ensure it,” Ostap Semerak explained.

In the meeting were participating 23 experts, in particular, Michael Emerson, Senior scientist of the Center for European Policy Studies (Belgium), Neil Melvin, Director of the SIPRI Program on Armed Conflict and Conflict Management (Sweden), Nicu Popesku, Senior analyst of the European Union Institute for Security Studies (France), Andrew Wilson, Senior policy fellow of the European Council on Foreign Relations (Great Britain).

Following the communication with the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers the foreign guests were familiarized with the newly founded Reform Support Center. Ostap Semarak invited the analysts to cooperate with the Center.
