Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Relevant cadre appointments and rotations will be held in the MIA system of Odessa

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed the Prosecutor’s bodies to find organizers of the recent events in Odessa and investigate the activity of top officials of the local militia. The Head of Government informed on Sunday, May 4, in Odessa during a meeting with leaders of social-political and cultural-economic areas of the region.

The meeting commenced with a minute of silence to commemorate those who died in Ukraine over the last days.  

The Head of Government stressed that the recent events in Odessa was the tragedy of not only the town, but of the entire Ukraine: “Dozens of victims were caused by the preliminary and well prepared campaign. The campaign against people, against Ukraine and against Odessa”.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized the Prosecutor’s bodies would assess the activity of the law enforcement system. He informed he had addressed the Prosecutor General Office with a request to hand over investigation of this case directly to the central office, Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, “to create a joint investigation operative brigade from all subdivisions, to find all instigators, organizers, all those who under the Russian leadership started a deadly attack towards Ukraine and Odessa, and investigate the activity of all top officials of the local militia”.

“If the law enforcement system in Odessa worked not only at the Seventh kilometer and protected people, all those terrorist organizations had to have been neutralized,” the Head of Government emphasized.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk underlined on the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “today there will be relevant cadre appointments and rotations in the MIA system of Odessa”: “I am expecting for the relevant appointments”.
