Ostap Semerak: Government endorses bill on liquidation of State Land Bank

On April 25, at its session the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine backed a proposition of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and endorsed a draft law that is to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, on liquidation of the State Land Bank.

While talking to the media people the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ostap Semerak noted that the State Land Bank had been set up by the government of Azarov “for certain corruption schemes”. “It was planned that land shares would be included into the bank and at the governmental funds the mentioned shares had to be purchased at reduced prices according to a corrupt and very non-transparent scheme from real owners,” the Minister told.

Ostap Semerak emphasized that creating of the State Land Bank by the Azarov’s government was considered “an unfair and corrupt decision” by the acting Government: “So we have adopted a decision on liquidation of the Land Bank today,” the top official added.
