Government asked IMF to resume cooperation program and loan

The Government has decreed the text of a request to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for receiving a loan and resumption of the program with the IMF, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the government meeting on Wednesday, April 23.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant resolution on Tuesday evening, April 22.

According to him, this program will allow to stabilize the economic situation in Ukraine.

"The Government has done a lot for this. I hope that by the end of this month, the IMF will consider our request and make a relevant decision," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that the Government expects a decision of the IMF within ten days.

In turn, Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak said that the package of documents has already been handed over to Washington. “Washington has received it. Our mission prepared the necessary package [of documents].”
