Andrii Deshchytsia participates in quadripartite meeting of heads of foreign political departments of Ukraine, U.S.A., EU and Russia

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia has participated in a quadripartite meeting of the heads of foreign political departments of Ukraine, the U.S.A., the EU and Russia.

On the outcomes of a long discussion the participants of the event agreed on top-priority steps to de-escalate the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine in order to increase safety of all the citizens.  

In particular, it concerns the need to stop any acts of violence, threats and provocation actions; disarmament of all illegal armed groups, liberation of illegally captured buildings by the gunmen.

The parties agreed that the OSCE would play a key role in ensuring implementation of the abovementioned top-priority measures, first of all – in disarmament of gunmen and liberating of the occupied buildings. In this regard the U.S.A., the EU and Russia backed the activity of the OSCE special monitoring mission in Ukraine.

Moreover, the participants expressed readiness to render additional support to Ukraine directed to stabilization of the economic and financial crisis in Ukraine.

The participants of the meeting signed a Joint statement.
