Polish experts came to help in implementing local government's reform in Ukraine

A delegation of experts led by the Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland Jacek Michałowski, which have arrived today to Kyiv, will discuss with Ukrainian officials practical issues of the reform of local government. Agreement on this visit of the delegation and further expert support of reform was achieved during the recent visit of the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Volodymyr Hroisman to Poland.

"We should have a confidence that the country wants to implement reform - then it can be implemented quickly. From the Ukrainian government it should be a person who, together with other ministries will implement the reform. On the Polish side, such a person will be Minister for Foreign Economic Relations Marcin Święcicki - a former mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw. He also served in the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki, who revolutionized the way Poland," Jacek Michałowski said during a meeting with reporters at the Boryspil airport.

The Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland informed that Polish experts will stay in Ukraine to work. Together with the established Working Group under the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services they will accompany the process of preparing and implementation of the reform.

Together with the Polish delegation, citizens of Ukraine came home, namely - Leonid Nadizhko and Vadym Lapko, which have been injured in February during the clashes on the Maidan and were treated in Poland thanks to the assistance of the Polish Government.
