Yuriy Prodan met with European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger in Brussels

On 19-20 March, 2014, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan paid a visit to the EU institutions.

During the visit, the Minister met with European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger. The main attention was focused on strengthening relations between Ukraine and the EU in the energy sector.

The parties discussed the modernization of Ukrainian gas transit system, diversification of natural gas supplies from Europe, exploration and production of unconventional natural gas in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to the stable operation of the power industry of Ukraine in modern terms. During the meeting the sides also talked about reform of the energy sector and energy integration of Ukraine into the European energy market.
