Government to allocate UAH 125 mln to military in Crimea
"Today, we are making a decision to allocate UAH
125 million for the military personnel now serving on the territory of Crimea
with dignity," the PM said at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet on
Sunday, March 9.
He has instructed the members of the government to enforce the order,
"to finance and deliver money directly to the people," and praised
the teamwork of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance on the
issue.
A.Yatseniuk has also asked the
representatives of big Ukrainian businesses to assist in providing military
personnel that are required under the Ministry of Defense requests, including
fuel and battery.
"In order
that Ukraine was able to defend itself, we need all to come together. I am sure
that representatives of big business in the current conditions are ready to do
everything to enable Ukraine's Armed Forces to perform tasks that they are
facing", he added.
The Prime
Minister appealed to the Minister of Finance, "I see plainly what the
government of Azarov and Yanukovych
has left us, but there are additional budget requests in the Ministry of
Defense and Ministry of Interior. We have to look for extra money in order to
run the budget requests and ensure the country's defense.
