Andrii Deshchytsia receives Mr. Zhang Xiyun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine

On March 3, 2014 Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine A. Deshchytsia received Mr. Zhang Xiyun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine.

Z. Xiyun has assured that China respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He advocates the settlement of the crisis in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by peaceful means through a dialogue and consultations of all Sides. He has also expressed confidence that "the Ukrainian people will be able to solve all the problems the state faces," which has been recently declared by the Foreign Ministry of China.

The Foreign Minister of Ukraine informed of the measures taken by the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine for the purpose of entry into force of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and China.

Chinese diplomat has asked to ensure adequate security of citizens of China who are now in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine A. Deschytsia has assured that the efforts of the Ukrainian Side, particularly in the context of the normalization of the situation in Crimea, are primarily aimed at creating safe living conditions and stay in our country both citizens of Ukraine and all citizens of foreign countries.
