Yatseniuk A.: We will afford none to cut pieces of Ukrainian territory from the country
The
Government of Ukraine will fulfill the commitments to all Ukraine’s citizens.
We will never leave the Crimeans on any reasons. The
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk
announced during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 1.
Arsenii Yatseniuk emphasized that excessive and inadequate presence
of Russian military officers on the territory of the Autonomy appeared the
direct heat on the Crimean residents: “The reputation of the Crimea as one of
the best resorts has been undermined. And if throughout three weeks Russia
affords their military officers to walk with armour
along the territory of the Autonomy, our answer will be as follows. One part of
this plan is to undermine the holiday season in the Crimea aiming to prevent
anyone from Russian, Europe or Belarus visiting it”.
He
reminded that the Olympiad in Sochi had cost Russia USD 48 billion, but these
days the Sochi resort was empty. “Therefrom an
attempt is being made to deprive the Crimeans of
work, salary and to destroy the resort as it was in Abkhazia, to undermine the
economic grounds of development of the Crimea and consequently to redirect all
resort flows to Sochi after the Olympiad”.
Arsenii Yatseniuk informed that the previous day the Government in
synergy with the National Bank and the State Treasury had been engaged in
resuming financial supplies of the Crime. “Through a certain period the
communication system was absent. Unknown persons turned off Ukrtelecom
communication system. And through reserve channels we could have managed to
restore both bank accounts and accounts in the state treasury system,” the head
of the Government stressed.
Moreover,
the Government has rendered support to the banking sector located in Crimea:
“Around UAH 400 million has been sent for refinancing to back the banks of
Crimea”.
Arsenii Yatseniuk addressed the Crimeans:
“I am asking everyone to calm down, not to yield to provocations. Ukraine will
do all the best so that we could be a single country, in order to protect the
rights of all national minorities. All the arguments that allegedly the Crimea
would be captured appeared one more attempt to provoke a conflict”.
The
Prime Minister informed that the day before he had had negotiations with
representatives of Crimean Tatars and expressed gratitude to the Crimean Tatars
“for the patience they manage to preserve”.
The
Government doesn’t make any step to provoke confrontations, Arsenii
Yatseniuk emphasized. “We warn everyone both in
Ukraine and in Crimea to avoid any violent confrontation. Exceptionally
peaceful way”.
“Several
weeks ago we experienced awful dramatic events, when hundreds of people died,
those killed by the regime. The new Ukrainian Government will take care of life
of every person, will ensure territorial integrity of the country, its
sovereignty and will afford none to cut pieces of Ukrainian territory from the
country,” Arsenii Yatseniuk
emphasized.
He
addressed the Council of Churches: “We are asking support of the clergy.
Irrespective of who attends which church we are a single country. And Ukrainian
Government will spare no effort to ensure respect of confession rights of every
citizen of the country”.
Apart
from that Arsenii Yatseniuk
commissioned the profile ministry to elaborate immediately a new redaction of
the law of Ukraine On Languages which would provide
guarantees to all national minorities to use their own language: “In order not
to afford anyone to speculate on these issues, sow split and discord within our
country”.
“We
experience very hard time. And we will be able to overcome it when we are
united and wise,” added Arsenii Yatseniuk.
