The government expressed condolences to the families of those killed in mine accident

Following the tragic mine accident in Makiyivka (the Donetsk region) yesterday, acting Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov has on behalf of the Government expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured miners in an explosion at the Pivnichna (the Nothern) mine.

"On behalf of the Government of Ukraine and from me personally, please accept my deep condolences over the deaths of miners in an explosion at the Pivnichna mine,” the address reads.

The Government Commission has been established in order to investigate the cause of the accident at the Pivnichna mine and provide assistance to the families of those killed and injured. The Commission is led by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko, who has already arrived to the accident scene.
