Serhiy Arbuzov: Ukraine continues fruitful cooperation with EBRD
The Government continues system cooperation in energy area with the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The acting First Vice
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov
declared.

“I wish
to thank our colleagues from the EBRD for the system support of the energy domain.
Being the largest investor in Ukraine the bank supports us in realization of
big projects in energy area. It is of great importance for us that these
funds are allocated on favorable conditions for our economy,” he announced. In this connection Serhiy Arbuzov evaluated the recent decision of the bank to allot to Ukraine USD 155 million with participation of Ukrainian banks for support of energy and small business in Ukraine. According
to him, from these funds UAH 100 million will be invested into development of
stable energy sources and energy effectiveness. Besides,
the acting First Vice Prime Minister
reminded that the EBRD had also approved a new program of support of small
and average enterprises at the amount of USD 55 million. “The funds for this project will help to Ukrainian enterprises to
enter the way of energy effectiveness, economizing and shortening of needs in
energy domain. This assistance coincides with our strategy of reducing emissions
in the production of electricity and environmental protection,” Serhiy Arbuzov added. |
