Leonid Kozhara discusses cooperation issues with Secretary General of the Council of Europe by phone

In the framework of regular political contacts the parties exchanged with views concerning the development of internal political situation in Ukraine and cooperation between the Government of our country and the Council of Europe.

The Minister informed about the measures taken by the President and the Government of Ukraine aiming peaceful settlement of the political crisis and emphasized on the need for the opposition to fulfill all the reached understandings in the framework of the so-called amnesty law.  

Peculiar attention was paid to the problem of growing extremism in the framework of the protest rallies in Ukraine and the importance to air by the opposition their clear attitude to the actions of extremist elements and maximal distancing from them emphasized.

The interlocutors agreed to further regular exchange of views concerning the issues that pose mutual interest.
