In February all the low-income families with children that receive assistance will get increased payments. The Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Nataliya Korolevska informed during a teleconference dedicated to considering the situation in social sphere.

“In the framework of the Social Initiatives of the President of Ukraine the rates of assistance for the low-income families have been increased. In particular, this year the subsistence level for the children was raised up to 85% against 75% in the previous level. Besides, allowances for children aged 3-13 have increased up to UAH 250 and aged 13-18 – up to UAH 500,” Nataliya Korolevska said.

She noted that respective changes were envisaged by the state budget for the current year. At the same time Nataliya Korolevska emphasized that document had been endorsed in mid January only, so recalculation of payments would be held in February. “In this connection local social protection departments must carry out recalculation of the allocated allowance for the low-income families without appeals of the citizens and to ensure extra payment of the allowance for January of the current year in February,” she explained.
